Trends You Can Expect to See in 2023

With November right around the corner, and with color predictions already out for 2023, it’s time to highlight which trends are staying in the past and which ones we’re about to see a whole lot more of.

Curvy lines

Home interiors may have forever changed because of the pandemic, it’s important for our homes to feel like a cozy sanctuary which is why this trend is going to be even bigger in the next year. Curved furniture is not only softer on the eyes but it’s also more inviting. We’re going to see it in couches, tables, mirrors and in entryways.

Warm Minimalism

I don’t believe minimalism is very practical for most households, but warm minimalism introduces more decorative pieces that are also functional, for example built in curated storage. Warm minimalism moves away from straight lines in black and white and has softer textures mixed with wood finishes.

Checkerboard pattern

This classic pattern has had its moment in retro colors but I believe we’re going to see less of the 90’s checkers and see a more chic take on it. I’ve been eyeing this two-tone natural jute checkered rug and black and white marble tiles will never go out of style.

Hellenism

What I mean by Hellenism is Corinthian-style furnishing and decorative pieces. This trend has already begun to pop up with cement busts and white plastered tables and I think it’s here to stay another year.

Mixed metals

When it comes to hardware, it’s most common to get matching finishes but because of shipping delays I think people are going to embrace mixing and matching metals. I’m hoping to see the mixing of hardware with statement lighting as well as pieces with two toned finishes.

Modern French

The French are known for their fashion forwardness, and you could even argue that my previous points could be considered a modern take on French interior design. We’re going to see more tufted velvet, wall sconces and wall molding, and of course, a grand mirror isn’t going anywhere.

In conclusion…

Since the pandemic, we have been on the hunt for finding comfort in our homes, and right now we are honing in on our likes and dislikes. I expect to see bolder colors in kitchens, experimentation with different materials, and a healthy balance of modern staples with vintage nods.
